I have an older red Expedition and one new'ish PBI Expedition and an old 3'rd generation Snow Mantra (gold logo era). The Expeditions are very warm at minus 21 deg. cel. and depending on your inner layers, they work really well, including adding the chill factor at windspeed of 5-18 meters per second. The Snow Mantra is a whole other league. For the serious cold weather, or just really cold weather if you are a frozen stick which I am, as I don't havea lot of body fat, being 1,88 meter and weighing 76,5 kilo on my own. Both jackets will take you through rough cold windy climate from a snowstorm in Copenhagen, to a trip up in the Carpathians, making sure you also have a lighter jacket as well. And the Snow Mantra will make you able to sleep outside in really cold weather. Personally for me, the Expedition is good enough to sleep inside a mountain cabin with no heat at all. Some people say they wear fast and break all kinds of places, but mine didn't, and I've yet to see any genuine that did. They last and last. If they will get some wear on the cuffs, I won't send them in for repair as it takes way too long, and may or may not be judged as normal wear and tear, but instead sew on a reinforcing band myself. I mean come on, even the velcro is good after years of use. In the video, there is one guy who pull a sledge, and we laid his cg Exp. on that and had lighter clothing on while moving and working. That's how warm it is. It's when you don't move fast and likewise, you need the extra preotection. As for everyday city use, I also use my Expeditions on Winter days bicycling through town with a strong wind in my face, being perfectly comfortable with jsut a normal wool sweater underneath. To me at least, there a big difference in how I perceive wet cold and dry cold. Cheers.

Canada Goose is not hype. It is not marketing bafflegab. Hell, it doesn’t even need marketing. Feeling “bullet proof” to the cold pretty much nails the whole point of these coats. They are brilliant. I’m a proud Canadian and a proud owner of a Canada Goose parka!
